Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medication Technician to join our healthcare team. In this role, you will be responsible for administering medications and providing essential support to patients in various care settings, including hospitals, senior care facilities, and memory care units. Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medications to patients in accordance with established protocols and regulations.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation related to medication administration.
- Assist with catheter care and other personal hygiene tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Monitor patients for any adverse reactions or side effects from medications and report findings promptly.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and infection control practices within the facility.
- Utilize electronic health record systems such as Epic for efficient medical documentation.
- Provide compassionate support to patients, fostering a positive environment that encourages their comfort and recovery.
Experience
- Previous experience in a hospital or medical office setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with senior care, memory care, or acute care environments is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in medical documentation practices and understanding of medication management protocols.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Certification as a Medication Technician is required; additional certifications in related areas are a plus.
