Position Overview:
As a Kitchen Assistant / Dishwasher, you will play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of our kitchen and dining services. From transporting meals to assisting with food prep and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment, your contributions help ensure our residents receive quality service with care and dignity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Transport plated meals safely to residents in dining and living areas.
- Operate a commercial dishwasher to clean dishes, utensils, pots, and pans.
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen, equipment, and work areas.
- Assist the cook with basic food preparation, including prepping ingredients, desserts, and serving items.
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and infection control policies.
- Support the culinary team with any additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Minimum of 6 months’ experience in food service, hospitality, or a related field is preferred.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Kitchen hours are from 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM — candidates must be available within this time frame.
Required Skills:
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Effective verbal communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of kitchen equipment and maintenance.
Pre-Employment Requirements:
- Must successfully pass a Level II Background Screening.
- Current TB test required upon hire.
- Must have open availability to meet scheduling needs.
