Job Title: Network Administrator
Job Type: Contract
Job Overview:
- Responsible for deploying, configuring, and supporting large-scale production and corporate network and server infrastructure across data centers and Point of Presence (POP) sites in multiple regions.
- Supports network operations, documentation, automation, and infrastructure best practices while ensuring uptime, performance, and reliability of systems.
- Works closely with engineering, logistics, vendors, and internal teams to support deployments, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of data center environments.
Requirement/Must Have:
- Experience in data center deployment and large-scale infrastructure support.
- Strong understanding of data center network architecture and common issues.
- Knowledge of data center practices including cabling, power usage, and cooling.
- Understanding of fiber optic technology including cable types, connectors, optics, and patch panels.
- Ability to capture and analyze network traffic.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills under pressure.
- Proficiency in Linux operating systems.
- Familiarity with IPv6 and scripting languages preferred.
- Ability to work with global teams and external service providers.
- Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and move equipment up to 30 40 lbs.
- Willingness to travel as required.
Experience:
- Experience in data center deployment, Linux-based server support, and network device operations preferred.
- Experience working with service providers and colocation facilities globally.
- Experience with optical equipment such as DWDM preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Deploy, configure, and support large-scale production and corporate network and server infrastructure.
- Calculate and document equipment power requirements and coordinate with relevant teams and vendors.
- Manage project timelines for network deployment and turn-up.
- Manage asset tracking for networking equipment in data centers and POP sites.
- Create and maintain documentation, automation processes, and deployment procedures.
- Develop rack designs, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and port mapping documentation.
- Prepare statements of work for vendors at POP sites.
- Design and support cage and rack infrastructure for POP environments.
- Follow and improve data center and POP operational best practices.
- Manage RMA processes and procedures with vendors.
- Provide escalation support and coordinate with internal support tiers.
- Collaborate with engineering, logistics, and vendors for equipment integration.
- Use internal tools and scripts for server and network configuration, monitoring, and repairs.
- Detect and troubleshoot hardware and network failures across multiple systems.
Should Have:
- Certification such as CCNA, JNCIA, RHCT, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Experience with queue management, incident handling, and vendor escalation processes.
- Exposure to POP deployment projects and infrastructure scaling.
- Knowledge of optical transport technologies and networking hardware.
