Job Title: Database Engineer
Job Type: Contract
Job Overview:
- Responsible for managing database operations, including installation, migration, performance optimization, and high availability.
- Ensures system reliability, supports troubleshooting, and drives improvements in database architecture and processes across a multi-location environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee database installation, configuration, and migration activities.
- Support and manage SQL Server environments, including AlwaysOn clusters.
- Perform database migrations across platforms, including cloud environments.
- Monitor system performance and conduct tuning to resolve bottlenecks.
- Troubleshoot backup, restore, and system issues to ensure data integrity.
- Develop and maintain backup and disaster recovery strategies.
- Ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements and operational processes.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members.
- Recommend improvements in database design, architecture, and technology.
Skills:
- Strong expertise in SQL Server installation and administration.
- Experience with AlwaysOn clustering and high availability solutions.
- Knowledge of database migration strategies and tools.
- Proficiency in scripting using PowerShell or batch scripting.
- Strong performance tuning and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with database monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of disaster recovery and backup solutions.
- Understanding of multiple database platforms and cloud technologies.
Qualification And Education:
- Bachelor s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Experience working on production database systems.
- Experience with database migration, installation, upgrades, and patching.
- Experience with relational and non-relational database systems preferred.
