Job Title Senior Robotics / Autonomy Engineer (AI Sensor & Edge Systems)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract) Location: San Francisco, CA (Onsite No Remote) Interview: In-person (San Francisco)
We are looking for a hands-on Senior Robotics / Autonomy Engineer to build and deploy real-world AI sensor and edge-compute systems for heavy machinery. This is an execution-focused role (not research) involving field deployment, hardware integration, and rapid iteration under real-world constraints.
Key Responsibilities
Design & deploy sensor stacks (LiDAR, Cameras, CAN Bus, Edge Compute)
Build low-latency AI pipelines under bandwidth/computing constraints
Integrate AI systems with autonomoheavy machinery
Enable efficient data capture & transfer (5G / Wi-Fi)
Support data pipelines for reinforcement & imitation learning
Perform onsite testing, debugging, and system hardening
Deliver quickly in fast-paced, real-world environments
Required Skills
Strong experience in Robotics / Autonomy AI systems
Proficiency in C and/or Python
Hands-on with sensor stacks: LiDAR, Cameras, CAN Bus, Edge systems
Experience with real-world deployments (robots, vehicles, UAVs, etc.)
Comfortable working with imperfect data & hardware constraints
Preferred Skills
Transformer models / AI agents experience
Reinforcement learning / imitation learning exposure
Edge AI optimization under constrained environments
Background in autonomy-focused companies (Tesla, Uber, etc.)
