What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Manager position at Cylake?
Your Impact
Join a small team building the next generation of cybersecurity products from the ground up. Led by industry veterans with a proven track record of success - you will get to architect, build, and deliver hugely impactful products with this world class team. You will have the opportunity to grow your career and skills along with the company from the very start.
Role Overview
You will own and drive the product strategy for SOC investigative tools and security automation and response capabilities within our next-generation cybersecurity platform. In this role, you'll be responsible for the complete product experience — from defining core investigative workflows and orchestrating detection-to-response pipelines, to crafting intuitive user experiences that balance powerful functionality with minimal friction. You'll work at the intersection of technology, performance, and usability, partnering closely with engineering, design, and customer-facing teams to deliver capabilities that power users trust and everyday users find effortless.
We're looking for two types of candidates for this role, and we value both equally:
Path A — Product Manager With SOC Domain Experience
You've built and shipped product in the cybersecurity space, ideally in areas adjacent to the SOC — detection and response, SIEM, SOAR, EDR, or similar. You bring strong product craft (strategy, prioritization, cross-functional execution) and enough technical depth to engage credibly with security practitioners and engineering teams.
You've spent years on the front lines — triaging alerts, building detections, running investigations, or leading incident response — and you have strong opinions about how these tools should work. You may not have held a PM title, but you've influenced tooling decisions, advocated for workflow improvements, or built internal solutions that made your team more effective. You're ready to channel that practitioner expertise into shaping product strategy.
We’re committed to building a diverse, inclusive workplace where everyone can do their best work. We are proud to be an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, veteran status, disability, genetic information, or other applicable legally protected characteristic. If you require a reasonable accommodation during the application or interview process, please let us know — we’re happy to support you.

You bring strong product craft (strategy, prioritization, cross-functional execution) and enough technical depth to engage credibly with security practitioners and engineering teams.
- 5 years of product management experience, with meaningful time spent in cybersecurity or adjacent infrastructure/security domains
- Direct experience defining and shipping SOC-adjacent products (detection, investigation, response, or related workflows)
- Strong understanding of the competitive landscape and market dynamics within cybersecurity
- Experience with product deployment, rollout, and lifecycle management across enterprise environments
- Familiarity with enterprise IT tooling, integration patterns, and the realities of deploying into complex customer environments

- 5 years of hands-on experience as a SOC analyst, detection engineer, threat hunter, or incident responder
- Deep fluency in SOC workflows: alert triage, investigation, detection authoring, incident response, or threat intelligence operations
- Demonstrated experience influencing or improving tooling, processes, or workflows beyond your individual role — whether through internal tool development, vendor evaluations, process redesign, or cross-team collaboration
- Comfort engaging with technical and business stakeholders to translate practitioner needs into product direction
- Familiarity with the vendor landscape and a point of view on what's working and what's broken in current-generation SOC tooling
- Genuine curiosity for understanding complex problem domains and a drive to go deep on how security practitioners actually work
- Ability to identify and decompose complex customer challenges into clear product opportunities
- Strong communication skills — you can articulate strategy to leadership, write crisp requirements for engineering, and build trust with customers
- Comfort operating in a fast-moving startup environment where scope is broad and ambiguity is high
