Cyient Inc. currently has an opening for a Outside Plant (OSP) Field Engineer, responsible for OSP FTTP fiber work orders, BAU work, Pole fielding, HiCap, etc., in New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine states. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, intelligent individuals with previous OSP field engineering and field data collection experience. Ideal candidates will have previous experience designing multiple OSP telecom projects simultaneously, including (but not limited to) FTTP (Fiber Distribution), 5G, HiCap and BAU projects. The ideal OSP Field Engineer will also travel to the field to survey, confirm, and assess current field conditions and meet with the customer as they relate to ongoing OSP designs.
Candidate must have reliable transportation to multiple work locations daily and self-manage their workload and work schedule
The OSP Field Engineer/Designer will be paid hourly
Position Requirements:
- High school diploma/equivalent or higher education
- Must have field experience in BAU, FTTP, Hi-Cap, etc
- Should have strong understanding of design and construction of Outside Plant Copper and Fiber Optic Cable (UG, Aerial, Buried) and manhole and conduit design.
- Should have good understanding of basic computer concepts and technology. Experience with Microsoft Office is required
- Knowledge of Fiber backbone (F1) and distribution networks (F2) is an advantage.
- Should be proactive and a self-learner.
- Possess strong professional written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to read, understand, interpret, input, and analyze data.
- Should have good attitude and ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks.
- Ability to communicate daily progress status to all reporting managers & stakeholders.
