What are the responsibilities and job description for the Instructor (Phlebotomy/Medical Assistant) position at CyFair Career Institute?
Seeking a Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant Instructor for 4 days a week and faculty meetings once a month outside of class times. Instructor is to provide students with course objectives and lab skills to succeed as Phlebotomists and Medical Assistants in the field. You will be expected to keep a positive attitude, compassion for students, ability to submit tasks and respond in a timely manner, and uphold the values set forth by the institution. We want someone who is as invested in our students as we are since we are a growing school.
We believe students learn more effectively when they are able to physically experience what they are reading about, so we have an emphasis on hands on training.
We keep classes small so students can experience one-on-one attention in a comfortable intimate setting.
Requirements:
- Tech savvy and able to teach classes online as we switch to hybrid
- Comfortable teaching and conducting presentations
- Comfortable recording video lectures and creating assignments
- Minimum of 3 years experience in the medical field and drawing blood.
- Phlebotomy Technician License/Certification or Medical Assistant Certification. (proof of program completion required)
- Excellent verbal and written skills
- Able to follow lesson plans adapt to changes, and contribute ideas for curriculum
- Professional, positive, encouraging, and timely.
- Ability to work on tasks and answer emails outside of class
Education:
- High school or equivalent (required)
- Phlebotomy/Medical Experience (required)
- Completion of Phlebotomy program OR Medical Assistant program (required)
- CPR Certification (preferred)
- Certified Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) OR Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) (preferred)
- Teaching experience (preferred)
Potential Schedules:
- Daytime 9AM-1PM
- Evening 6-10PM
