Cycle Construction is seeking an experienced Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) to lead safety compliance and execution on U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) projects.
This role serves as the on-site safety authority and is responsible for enforcing EM 385-1-1 requirements and maintaining a safe, compliant jobsite.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as SSHO and competent person per EM 385-1-1
- Implement and enforce the Accident Prevention Plan (APP)
- Develop and maintain Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs)
- Conduct site inspections and safety meetings
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, USACE, and regulatory requirements
- Manage safety documentation, reporting, and submittals
- Investigate incidents and implement corrective actions
- Enforce subcontractor compliance
- Exercise stop-work authority when required
Qualifications
- 5 years of construction safety experience (heavy civil preferred)
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and EM 385-1-1
- Prior SSHO experience on USACE projects preferred
- Must be accepted by USACE as SSHO for assigned projects
- OSHA 30 (current), First Aid/CPR required
- CQM-C certification (required or ability to obtain)
- Strong documentation and communication skills
