Role Description The Powersports Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Wailuku, HI. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining motorcycles, scooters, and other powersports vehicles, including performing routine services, inspections, and safety checks. Day-to-day tasks include troubleshooting mechanical and electrical issues, completing manufacturer-recommended maintenance, assembling new units, and preparing vehicles for delivery. The technician documents all work performed, follows dealership and manufacturer standards, and communicates clearly with service advisors and customers about repairs and recommended maintenance. The role also involves maintaining a clean, organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols, and staying current with technical training and product updates.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in motorcycle or powersports repair, including diagnostics, maintenance, and troubleshooting of mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, shop equipment, and the ability to read service manuals and technical diagrams.
- Strong attention to detail, safety-focused work habits, and ability to follow established procedures and manufacturer guidelines.
- Effective communication skills to interact with team members and customers, and basic computer skills for service documentation.
- High school diploma or equivalent; formal technical training, manufacturer certifications, or ASE credentials in relevant areas are preferred.
- Ability to work on-site full time in Wailuku, HI, including standing for extended periods and safely lifting moderate weights.
- Prior dealership or service center experience in motorcycles or powersports is highly beneficial.
