QA and QC Engineer
Electric Powered Hydraulic Fracturing Equipment Permian Basin – Midland/ Odessa
The Nuts and Bolts of The Job:
Reporting to the Quality Operations Manager – and as part of an eight person, highly focused, Texas based engineering team, this critical role is responsible to manage the flow of information and relationship between the company (Evolution), specifically the in-house engineering team and the customer partner they are supporting. Using your strong people skills, solid & proven technical knowledge and prior oil & gas industry experience, you will own the quality of Evolution service and deliverables, drive improvements in efficiency in the field, and use company established Quality System (EVO SQ System) to ensure customer satisfaction and equipment performance.
Office based, with visits to the field as needed, you will serve as the boots-on-the-ground driver of Evolution’s Quality Management System (QMS) in the field, shop, and manufacturing environments. As such, you will work directly with field leadership, frontline crews, and support personnel to reinforce quality expectations, identify process deviations, and close the loop between daily operations and systemic improvement. This role is critical to embedding quality at the source — before issues become failures.
When there are changes in scope of work, equipment challenges and/or failures – you will work between the internal engineering and the customer team to ensure that the engineered solution is suitable, quality based and then will document and communicate information between both companies/teams. Assigned to a strategic client group – you will participate in client-specific service, quality, and innovation efforts, and will use the Evolution Service Quality System (EVO SQ System) to ensure accuracy and document results. You will work on a Monday to Friday schedule to deliver knowledge and foster a culture of continuous learning and growth.
You will:
- Conduct field- and facility-based audits of quality-critical processes using company-issued checklists and standards
- Promote and reinforce adherence to SOPs, Best Practices, and safety-critical work instructions
- Build trust-based relationships with crews and leads to support coaching, quality awareness, and proactive issue reporting
- Initiate Quality tickets and non-conformance reports in the QMS system and ensures clear documentation of findings
- Support deployment of field-facing quality tools such as Layered Process Audits (LPAs), Control Plans, and checklists
- Collaborate with Quality Systems Engineers to escalate and resolve systemic issues
- Facilitate pre-job startup reviews and field walkthroughs to identify risk prior to equipment deployment or job startup
- Assist in recognition of high-performing crews and supports the cultural rollout of quality expectations
- Perform other duties as assigned to support quality assurance and operational continuity
- Travel – in district 25-75% of your week.
You Bring:
- Bachelor of Science in Engineering (Industrial, Electrical or Mechanical)
- 5 years of operational or maintenance experience in oilfield services, manufacturing, or field support roles
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build trust with crews, supervisors, and support teams
- Familiarity with operational procedures, field service environments, or equipment staging practices
- Proficient use of digital tools such as KPA, Microsoft Teams, Excel, and mobile form platforms
- Ability to conduct structured audits and clearly document observations
- Self-motivated with excellent follow-through and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, travel frequently, and adapt to dynamic field conditions
- Committed to modeling and promoting quality, safety, and operational discipline
