Salary: $25/hour*This is a field-based, nomadic role that can be relocated at any point in time in the service territory.Job Title: Visual ObserverLocation: Upland, California (SCE)Division: OperationsDepartment: Field Ops - USReports to: Lead PilotSalary: $25/hourEmployee status: SeasonalClassification: Non-exempt, HourlyAbout the Role: As a Visual Observer, you will report to a LeadPilot,and you willbe responsible forsupporting the UAV Pilot in Command (PIC) in routine and rapid response inspections for our utility customers and other related tasks.Youare responsible forcommunicating effectively and working well in team environments while working inclose proximitywith the public.You will scan skies and surroundingarea, ensuring a clear flight path and free of hazards.Every employee at Cyberhawk is expected to demonstrate and foster the 5 core values, along with the overarching value of Nae Drama, that encourage a positive culture within Cyberhawk:One TeamOpen and HumbleHungry to GrowShow up and Have FunOwn it And Solve ItJob Responsibilities:Flight Safety & Situational AwarenessMaintain constant visual line of sight (VLOS) with the UAS and continuously scan the surrounding environment for hazards.Provide clear, timely verbal direction to the PIC to support safe execution of all flight operations.Assist in evaluating flight areas, ensuring safe takeoff/landing zones and proper hazard mitigation.Pre-Flight & On-Site SupportAssist with mission setup and teardown, following all applicable SOPs.Support the PIC in reviewing mission briefs and understanding operational requirements.Assist with equipment placement, organization, and readiness prior to each mission.Data & Operational SupportSupport basic data handling and processing tasks as directed.Assist with general administrative and office duties as needed.Represent Cyberhawk professionally when interacting with clients, contractors, landowners, and the public.Job Requirements:High school diploma or equivalentDemonstrated ability to follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety ProtocolsAbility to maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive company and customer informationAbility to professionally interact with clients, the public, contractors, and other employeesAbility to work both in a team and independently, taking initiative when requiredEffective oral and written communication skillsStrong attention to detailComputer literate with an ability to effectively use our communication channels, such as Microsoft Teams and Microsoft Outlook, and other computer systems/applications, such as our timekeeping system.Physical requirements:Prolonged periods of standing in outdoor environmentsAble to work occasional 10 hour workdays and weekendsAble to visually track a UAS unassisted (corrective lenses acceptable)Able to kneel, crouch, and walk on uneven terrainMust be able to lift up to 35 lbsAbility to maintain focus and situational awarenessBonus Experience:Working knowledge of FAA part 107 regulations and ability to obtain a part 107Aviation backgroundPart 61 certificationBA in Aeronautics, Business or similar fieldWorking knowledge of various platforms:DJI: M300, Mavic3 EnterpriseFreefly Astro with LR1Skydio X10Additional Details:Eligibility to live and work in the US with high fluency in EnglishValid Drivers license requiredThis is a nomadic position that can be relocated within the applicable service territory at any point in time and may require occasional weekend and/or holiday work.This position is eligible for per diems when away from your permanent residenceThe successful candidate will be required to complete a criminal background check and motor vehicle check during the onboarding process.Company US Benefits:Employee medical, dental and vision insurance paid for 100% by the companyBasic life insurance, short-term disability and long-term disability covered 100% by the companyOther voluntary health benefits hospital, accident, critical illness and voluntary life insurancePaid company holidays, Flexible PTO and Sick time401k with a 5% company matchEmployee Referral ProgramAbout Cyberhawk:Founded in 2008, Cyberhawk is the first company in the world to use drones to inspect industrial assets.
