Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Trusts & Estates Litigation Partner to lead our legal team in representing clients in all aspects of trusts and estates litigation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in trust law, estate planning, and litigation, and will be committed to providing exceptional client service while effectively managing complex legal disputes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage trusts and estates litigation cases from inception through resolution
- Represent clients in Surrogates Court and other relevant courts
- Conduct trials and hearings, presenting compelling arguments and evidence
- Advise clients on trust and estate matters, including probate, estate administration, and estate tax issues
- Develop and implement effective litigation strategies
- Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements
- Conduct legal research and stay updated on relevant laws and regulations
- Mentor and supervise junior attorneys and support staff
- Juris Doctorate (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active New York State Bar membership
- 10 years of experience in Trusts and Estates Litigation, Surrogates Court
- Proven Trial experience and a strong track record of successful case outcomes
- In-depth knowledge of trusts and estates law, including estate planning and probate law
- Excellent negotiation and dispute resolution skills
- Strong legal writing and research abilities
- Experience in case management and trial preparation
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
