The ideal candidate has a strong background in industrial and construction environments, experience with self-perform work, and the ability to align project execution with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide executive leadership for multiple concurrent projects, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, financial targets, and client expectations.
- Develop and maintain strong client relationships; act as the primary executive point of contact to secure repeat business and identify new opportunities.
- Oversee project financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, change management, and margin protection.
- Drive execution excellence on self-perform activities by coordinating internal craft resources, optimizing schedules, and ensuring quality workmanship.
- Collaborate with operations, estimating, safety, procurement, and commercial teams to develop realistic project plans and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with safety, regulatory, and quality standards across all projects and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Mentor and develop project managers and site leadership, fostering a high-performance culture and succession planning.
- Lead contract negotiations, claims resolution, and dispute management to protect company interests and preserve client relationships.
- Monitor project schedules and resource allocation, intervening proactively to remove obstacles and accelerate critical path items.
- Report project status, financial performance, and key risks to senior leadership and stakeholders on a regular basis.
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience in industrial or heavy construction, including demonstrated success managing large, complex projects.
- Proven track record with self-perform operations, including planning, resourcing, and delivering craft-led scopes of work.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in project controls, budgeting, contract management, and change order negotiation.
- Excellent client-facing skills with a history of building and maintaining executive-level relationships and securing repeat work.
- Demonstrated leadership and team development skills, with experience mentoring project managers and site teams.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and regulatory requirements; commitment to promoting a strong safety culture.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills; ability to make data-driven decisions under pressure.
- Willingness to travel to project sites as required.
