Production Supervisor
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to oversee daily manufacturing operations, ensure product quality, meet production targets, and lead a diverse team on the shop floor. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, safety-focused, and able to communicate effectively with both English- and Spanish-speaking team members. This role requires strong organizational and technical skills to optimize throughput, maintain equipment reliability, and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily production activities to meet or exceed output, quality, and on-time delivery targets.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of machine operators and production associates; manage staffing, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards; conduct regular audits and safety meetings.
- Monitor production metrics, analyze performance data, and implement corrective actions to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Oversee machine setup, changeovers, and routine maintenance coordination to minimize downtime.
- Collaborate with engineering, quality assurance, and maintenance to troubleshoot issues and implement process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production records, shift reports, and inventory usage; communicate status to management and stakeholders.
- Support hiring, training, and onboarding; provide bilingual (English/Spanish) training and communication as needed.
- Drive continuous improvement projects using lean manufacturing principles such as 5S, Kaizen, and root cause analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or equivalent experience preferred; associate degree or technical certification acceptable with relevant experience.
- 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or production environment; experience with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of production planning, process control, quality systems (e.g., ISO, GMP) and safety regulations (OSHA).
- Proven ability to read and interpret production and quality documentation, and to use production tracking systems and basic MS Office tools.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred; ability to communicate clearly in both languages with staff and management.
- Strong leadership, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills; ability to motivate teams and manage conflict effectively.
- Capability to work flexible shifts and respond to production demands; ability to stand, walk, and perform duties on the shop floor as required.
