Maintenance Mechanic - Industrial Manufacturing 

Industrial Manufacturing Facility 
Location: Huntersville, NC
Pay Rate: $28 to $32 per hour DOE 

About the Role

The Maintenance Mechanic plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment. This hands-on position is responsible for preventive maintenance, mechanical troubleshooting, and repair of complex equipment including pumps, boilers, and conveyor systems. Working closely with production teams, the Maintenance Mechanic helps minimize downtime, maintain safety standards, and support overall manufacturing performance.

This role is ideal for a mechanically skilled professional who enjoys diagnosing equipment issues, implementing effective solutions, and contributing directly to plant productivity and quality.

 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine, preventive, and corrective maintenance on pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and related mechanical equipment
• Diagnose mechanical failures and implement repairs to minimize production downtime
• Maintain compliance with safety and operational standards
• Safely operate forklifts and climb ladders to access equipment and components
• Support production schedules by working overtime when required
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment condition
• Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to support continuous improvement efforts

 

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Proven experience working with mechanical systems in a manufacturing environment
• Hands-on experience with pumps, boilers, conveyor systems, and industrial machinery
• Knowledge of three-phase electrical systems and mechanical components such as gaskets
• Ability to safely operate forklifts and climb ladders
• Willingness and ability to work overtime when needed

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certification or vocational training in mechanical maintenance or industrial equipment repair
• Experience within non-durable goods manufacturing
• Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)
• Strong troubleshooting and preventive maintenance skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
