Position Overview
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring the continuous operation of machinery and equipment in an industrial food manufacturing environment. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to maintain operational efficiency and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production machinery and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues.
- Conduct preventive maintenance (PM) to minimize downtime and maintain operational efficiency.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery and equipment as part of capital expenditure (CAP EX) projects.
- Collaborate with the production team to ensure minimal disruption during maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair work performed for compliance and tracking purposes.
- Support continuous improvement (CI) initiatives by identifying areas for enhancement in maintenance processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in maintenance mechanics or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience as a maintenance mechanic in an industrial or food manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Familiarity with PLC programming and troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
