Litigation Paralegal
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Litigation Paralegal to support our litigation team in all phases of civil litigation. The Litigation Paralegal will manage case files, assist with drafting pleadings and motions, coordinate discovery and e-discovery workflows, prepare exhibits and trial materials, and handle docketing and e-filing tasks. The ideal candidate has proven Civil Litigation experience, strong organizational skills, and familiarity with federal and state court procedures and litigation support software.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day paralegal support to attorneys in civil litigation matters, including drafting complaints, answers, motions, and other pleadings.
- Manage case files and calendars: docket deadlines, schedule depositions, hearings, and trials, and maintain chronologies and timelines.
- Prepare and file pleadings and documents using CM/ECF and handle PACER research and filings as required.
- Coordinate discovery, including preparation and service of subpoenas, responses to discovery requests, and production of documents.
- Oversee e-discovery processing and workflows: ingest, process, review, code, and produce documents using platforms such as Relativity, Concordance, Everlaw, Clearwell, and other tools.
- Perform document review and coding, create privilege logs, apply Bates numbering, and perform redactions.
- Assemble deposition summaries, review transcripts, and prepare exhibits and trial binders; manage exhibit databases and TrialDirector/OnCue presentations for trial.
- Prepare and manage evidence and exhibit materials, including labeling, indexing, and coordinating physical and electronic exhibit production.
- Draft correspondence, meet and confer letters, and coordinate service of process; handle client/matter intake and maintain confidentiality and protective order compliance.
- Maintain and update case management systems (Clio, iManage, ProLaw, PracticePanther) and document repositories; perform docketing and calendaring tasks.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and court reporters, manage vendor workflows for scanning, copying, and e-discovery services.
- Support billing and timekeeping processes using timekeeping/billing systems (Elite 3E, Aderant) and assist with invoice and fee entry as needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on civil litigation paralegal experience (or equivalent experience supporting litigators).
- Paralegal certificate, Associate or Bachelors degree in a related field preferred.
- Demonstrated experience with federal and state court rules and procedures and strong knowledge of CM/ECF e-filing and PACER.
- Proven drafting skills for pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and related litigation documents.
- Experience managing discovery and e-discovery workflows, including use of Relativity, Concordance, Everlaw, Clearwell, and other review platforms.
- Familiarity with legal research tools such as LexisNexis and Westlaw.
- Experience with document review and coding, Bates numbering, privilege logs, redaction, and document production processes.
- Experience preparing subpoenas, coordinating service of process, and handling deposition/transcript tasks including deposition summaries.
- Proficiency with case management and practice management software (Clio, iManage, ProLaw, PracticePanther), docketing and calendaring systems, and Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Acrobat.
- Experience with trial preparation and exhibit assembly, trial binder creation, and exhibit presentation tools (TrialDirector, OnCue).
- Experience with timekeeping and billing systems (Elite 3E, Aderant) and strong attention to detail for billing and fee entry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organization and prioritization abilities, ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines, and maintain strict confidentiality.
