We are seeking a proactive Field Applications Engineer to provide technical leadership and customer-facing support for our electronic interconnect and power hardware products. The FAE will partner with sales and product teams to understand customer requirements, drive product selection and integration, support design-in activities, and ensure successful deployment of connector and interconnect solutions. This role balances hands-on engineering, customer troubleshooting, and technical enablement to expand product adoption and solve complex electronics challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the technical lead for customers during pre-sales and post-sales phases, delivering application expertise on connectors, interconnects, and power hardware.
- Collaborate with sales to qualify opportunities, define system-level requirements, and propose appropriate hardware and interconnect solutions.
- Provide hands-on device evaluation, hardware bring-up, lab testing, and proof-of-concept demonstrations for electronic and power applications.
- Assist customers with circuit integration, PCB layout guidance, signal integrity and power delivery considerations related to connector and interconnect selection.
- Troubleshoot complex customer issues in the field and remotely, using test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, network analyzers) to diagnose failures and validate fixes.
- Develop application notes, reference designs, test reports, and technical documentation to accelerate customer design-in and ensure repeatable performance.
- Deliver technical training, product demonstrations, and workshops for customers, distributors, and internal teams.
- Work closely with product management and engineering to relay customer feedback, influence product roadmaps, and propose enhancements to hardware and connector solutions.
- Manage project timelines, coordinate sample deliveries, and support qualification and certification activities as required.
- Travel to customer sites and trade shows to present technical solutions, run evaluations, and support sales engagements.
- Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
- 3 years of experience in applications engineering, field applications, sales engineering, or a related role supporting electronic hardware and interconnect products.
- Deep familiarity with connectors, interconnects, power delivery, and electronic hardware design considerations.
- Hands-on experience with circuit troubleshooting, PCB layout review, soldering and prototyping, and use of lab instruments (oscilloscope, multimeter, signal/network analyzer).
- Strong communication and presentation skills with proven ability to translate technical details for customers and sales teams.
- Experience supporting sales cycles, creating technical proposals, and performing product demonstrations and evaluations.
- Ability to travel regularly to customer sites and industry events.
- Self-motivated, customer-focused, and comfortable working cross-functionally with engineering, product management, and sales.
- Preferred: experience with connector families and interconnect systems, knowledge of signal integrity or power integrity principles, and familiarity with CAD/layout tools.
