Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project drawings and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Perform quantity takeoffs to determine the amount of materials and labor needed for projects.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers and engineers to gather information and clarify project details.
- Prepare and present detailed proposals to clients, including cost breakdowns and project timelines.
- Negotiate contracts and pricing with clients and subcontractors to achieve favorable terms.
- Conduct risk analysis to identify potential project challenges and cost implications.
- Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and construction methods to improve estimating accuracy.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in the wastewater or civil engineering sectors.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, costs, and materials.
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and understanding technical drawings.
- Experience with quantity takeoff and cost estimation software.
- Excellent negotiation skills and the ability to manage client expectations.
- Knowledge of risk analysis and mitigation strategies in construction projects.
- Familiarity with environmental remediation and DOT regulations is a plus.
