Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Estimator for our Commercial Construction division to accurately assess project costs and support our bidding process. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial construction practices and contribute to the successful delivery of projects from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze project drawings (architectural, mechanical, and electrical), and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to clarify project requirements and scope.
- Prepare and submit detailed bid proposals, including cost breakdowns and timelines. Be prepared to submit bids by deadlines that can sometimes be later in the evening.
- Conduct site visits to gather data and evaluate conditions that may affect project costs.
- Monitor and update estimates as project scope and conditions change during the bidding process.
- Stay informed about market trends, material costs, and labor rates to ensure competitive bidding.
- Assist in negotiating contract terms and conditions with clients and subcontractors.
- Strong preference will be given to candidates located in the Pacific and Mountain Time Zones
- Bachelor's degree (or relevant experience) in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in commercial construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of commercial construction processes and cost estimation techniques.
- Proficiency in estimating software and tools.
- Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills to work effectively with clients and team members.
- Familiarity with ground-up construction, tenant improvements, additions, renovations, and bidding processes is a plus.
