Job Title: Database Administrator

Location: Argyle, TX (On-site)

Salary Range: $85K - $140K (DOE)

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled and driven Database Administrator to play a critical role in the development, management, and administration of enterprise databases. This position is responsible for designing and implementing data structures, managing and securing databases, and administering Microsoft SQL Server instances across Linux, Windows, and Amazon RDS environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure 24/7 availability, security, and performance of mission-critical application databases across platforms (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon RDS).
• Design, implement, and optimize data structures and schemas to meet business needs.
• Develop, modify, and optimize SQL scripts, stored procedures, and functions.
• Generate ad hoc reports and perform precise data updates.
• Support MySQL-based reporting workloads and cross-platform data analysis.
• Develop and maintain self-service reporting capabilities for end users.
• Consolidate data from multiple sources into cohesive, accessible structures.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve complex database issues, implementing performance improvements.
• Manage database security, access control, and data distribution.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate efficient database requests into applications.
• Support and optimize SQL Server processes and SQLite database generation for mobile applications.
• Document data models and transform raw data into actionable business intelligence.
• Design and test backup, recovery, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Lead database-related projects for upgrades, migrations, and patch management.
• Manage and refresh test data for development teams.
• Provide SQL training and empower business users through reporting tools.
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent certifications.
• 5 years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration.
• Proven ability to work independently as a standalone DBA.
• Expertise in SQL Server backup, recovery, security, and integrity.
• Experience with complex stored procedures, reports, and queries.
• Strong background in database design and development.
• Experience with SQL Server on Linux and Amazon RDS (preferred).
• Familiarity with tools like Redgate SQL Compare and SQL Data Compare.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, diverse environment and manage critical efforts effectively.
