CNC Machinist (4-5 Axis)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled CNC Machinist with strong Mastercam programming experience and hands-on experience operating 4-axis and 5-axis CNC machines. This role is ideal for a machinist who thrives on complex parts, tight tolerances, and working with a variety of materials, including exotic alloys.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and operate 4-axis and 5-axis CNC mills

• Program using Mastercam (create, edit, and optimize toolpaths)

• Interpret complex blueprints, GD&T, and technical drawings

• Machine tight-tolerance precision components

• Work with materials including aluminum, stainless steel, copper, plastics, and exotic alloys (Inconel, Invar, etc.)

• Perform in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments

• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure parts meet AS9100 standards

• Support prototype and production runs

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of CNC machining experience

• Strong Mastercam programming experience

• Hands-on 4-axis and 5-axis machining experience

• Ability to set up jobs independently

• Experience holding tight tolerances

• Strong understanding of GD&T

• Experience working in a quality-driven manufacturing environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in aerospace or defense manufacturing

• Familiarity with AS9100 environments

• Experience with CMM inspection processes

• Background in machining exotic materials
