Established (100 Years) Premier Full-Service Firm Seeking Associate Attorney for Civil Defense Litigation in Jackson, MS
An established Mississippi full-service law firm with over 100 years in practice is seeking an Associate Attorney with 2 years of experience in civil defense litigation to join its Jackson, MS office. Experience with corporate/transactional matters is a plus. This is an opportunity to develop a well-rounded legal practice within a respected institution known for deep local roots, strong institutional clients, and a collaborative culture that invests in the long-term growth of its attorneys.
Offer:
Salary range: $120,000-$150,000 , contingent on experience

Hybrid schedule with approximately 3 days onsite
Administrative, paralegal, and marketing support
Strong internal referral streams and cross-practice collaboration
Clear path toward advancement for attorneys with consistent performance
Qualifications:
2-5 years of civil defense litigation experience
Familiarity with civil defense matters including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and depositions
Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school
Mississippi Bar membership in good standing, or eligibility for admission
Corporate/transactional experience is a plus but not required
Strong written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail
Ability to manage multiple matters and work collaboratively within a team environment
Responsibilities:
Manage a civil defense litigation caseload with increasing independence
Draft and review pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and litigation-related documents
Represent clients in depositions, hearings, mediations, and settlement negotiations
Advise and support clients on risk management and litigation strategy
Collaborate with partners and practice groups to support institutional clients and ongoing matters
Assist with corporate/transactional matters as needed and as experience allows
