We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Fiber Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic and low voltage cabling systems. This role requires a strong understanding of network installation and field service operations, ensuring that telecommunication systems are functioning optimally. The Fiber Technician will work both independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality service to our clients.

Duties

• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and associated equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on telecommunication systems.
• Collaborate with team members to execute network installations efficiently.
• Utilize hand tools and specialized equipment for cabling tasks.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards while working in various environments.
• Operate a 28 ft ladder.
• Document service calls and maintain accurate records of installations and repairs.
• Provide exceptional customer service during field visits, addressing any client concerns promptly.

Requirements

• Proven experience in cabling, particularly with fiber optics and low voltage systems.
• Familiarity with computer networking principles and Ethernet technologies.
• Previous experience as a service technician in the telecommunications field is preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
• Proficient in using hand tools and equipment related to network installation.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
• Willingness to travel to various job sites as required.
