Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced SAP S/4HANA EWM / 3PL Consultant to serve as a functional SME within an Application Management Services (AMS) engagement.

The consultant will be responsible for L2/L3 production support, defect resolution, minor enhancements, 3PL integrations, and continuous improvement across warehouse and logistics execution processes. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM or Decentralized EWM, warehouse operations, 3PL integrations, and AMS support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 functional support for SAP EWM and 3PL-connected warehouse processes.
• Manage and resolve incidents, problems, service requests, and change requests.
• Perform triage, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis (RCA) for warehouse execution issues.
• Support end-to-end inbound, outbound, inventory, and internal warehouse processes.
• Configure and support core SAP EWM functionality, including:
• Inbound: ASN, deconsolidation, Goods Receipt (GR), putaway, VAS
• Outbound: Waves, picking, packing, staging, loading, PGI
• Internal: Replenishment, bin-to-bin movements, physical inventory, cycle counting, scrapping
• Warehouse Structure: Storage types, storage sections, bins, activity areas, work centers, and packing specifications
• Support Warehouse Order (WO) and Wave Management, labor/queue concepts where applicable, exception handling, and EWM monitoring.
• Support 3PL integrations, including interface monitoring, error handling, mapping clarification, reconciliation, and coordination with external 3PL providers.
• Work closely with warehouse operations and business users to identify requirements and recommend process improvements.
• Translate business requirements into user stories, functional specifications, and enhancement requests.
• Support unit testing, regression testing, UAT, release management, and cutover activities.
• Create and maintain SOPs, runbooks, knowledge articles, interface monitoring guides, and support documentation.
• Coordinate with technical teams to troubleshoot and resolve integration/interface issues.

Required Functional Expertise

• 7 years of SAP Logistics experience with strong hands-on experience in SAP EWM.
• Strong experience with SAP S/4HANA Embedded EWM or Decentralized EWM.
• Expertise in:
• Warehouse structure and master data
• Products, Handling Units (HU), bins, and packaging specifications
• Warehouse Tasks and Warehouse Orders
• RF processes/framework
• EWM monitoring tools
• Inbound, outbound, inventory, and exception handling
• Strong integration knowledge with:
• SAP MM/IM
• SAP SD/LE
• SAP TM – where applicable
• Understanding of FI impacts of goods movements
• Strong understanding of 3PL operating models and integrations.
• Experience with integration technologies such as IDoc, API, EDI, and middleware.
• Strong experience in AMS / Production Support, including ticket management, RCA, SLA adherence, documentation, and stakeholder communication.

Technical & Delivery Skills

• Ability to work effectively with ABAP, SAP CPI, PI/PO, BTP Integration Suite, and middleware teams.
• Experience troubleshooting interfaces using:
• EWM Monitoring
• Queues
• IDoc Monitoring
• Middleware Dashboards
• Ability to create clear defect analysis, RCA, and functional specifications.
• Strong communication skills with warehouse operations, IT teams, business users, and external 3PL partners.
• Ability to lead issue-resolution calls and drive incidents through closure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 7 years of SAP Logistics experience, with significant depth in SAP EWM.
• Strong warehouse/logistics domain experience in manufacturing, distribution, retail, or CPG is preferred.
• Strong experience working in an AMS / Production Support environment.
• Willingness to work onsite at the Forest City, IA plant and travel to other sites as required.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a Senior SAP EWM Functional SME / Consultant with strong S/4HANA EWM 3PL AMS/Production Support experience who can work directly with plant operations, troubleshoot complex warehouse issues, coordinate with technical/integration teams, and drive issues through resolution.
