Job Summary:
A Master Electrician (Industrial/Manufacturing) installs, maintains, and repairs electrical systems and equipment in manufacturing facilities. They troubleshoot machinery, maintain control panels and power distribution systems, ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards, and oversee electrical projects.
Pay:
- 1st shift starting rate: $32/hour
- Ability to earn $1.00/hour increase per pay period based on perfect attendance
- Bi-weekly
Essential Job Functions:
Electrical Installation & Maintenance
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, equipment, fixtures, and control systems.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, diagrams, and specifications.
- Plan electrical layouts and ensure installations meet applicable electrical codes and standards.
- Test electrical systems and continuity using testing devices such as voltmeters, ohmmeters, and oscilloscopes.
Troubleshooting & Repairs
- Diagnose malfunctioning systems, equipment, and components.
- Repair or replace defective wiring, circuit breakers, transformers, and other electrical components.
- Perform preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment.
Required Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience preferred
- 1-3 years of experience in a leadership/mentor role preferred
- Technical or vocational training in electrical systems preferred
Knowledge & Skills
- Extensive knowledge of electrical systems, power distribution, and controls.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical diagrams.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes and safety regulations.
- Specialized training in electronics including automated equipment of both PLC and PC controls.
- Basic skills in Microsoft Word, Outlook, and CMMS (AS400 preferably).
- Knowledge of how to design assemble and commission machine control panels.
