What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manufacturing Process Engineer position at CWS?
Reporting to our Process Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for the development and implementation of all engineered standards for manufacturing products and processes. The Manufacturing Process Engineer will support our Operations’ Leadership in analyzing the processes used to manufacture our products and utilize that analysis to make recommendations that improve the quality of products, increase productivity, reduce costs and increase throughput.
Job Responsibilities:
- Establish, modify, and maintain all engineered labor standards using Standards Pro.
- Review and restate labor standards annually to support the annual budget process.
- Participate in Continuous Improvement project teams.
- Assist with studies or projects to enhance process improvements for manufacturing.
- Assist in defining the manufacturing steps for all new products and processes.
- Assist in creating new product routers and maintain them as needed.
- Develop and maintain manufacturing resources used in product routers to identify critical manufacturing information such as labor hours, material and cycle times.
- Review material yield reports and problem solve variances to determine root causes.
- Support manufacturing with problem solving and maintaining manufacturing paperwork.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering or 3-5 years’ experience with manufacturing process improvements.
- Strong math and statistical analysis skills.
- Capable of working independently without close supervision.
- The need for judgment and discretion in independent decision making is required.
- Required communication with department and non-department employees, management officials, and marketing/product development.
- Required to communicate effectively through verbal and written forms.
- Must maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
