Chemist Support - SEE Program

CWI Works is recruiting for a full-time Chemist Support position within the Senior Environmental Employment (SEE) Program which provides support to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in Edison, NJ. Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check.

Role and Responsibilities:

Position provides specialized technical and analytical chemistry support for Regional Sample Control Center (RSCC) operations, with emphasis on analytical data management, data quality, data validation, and technical document control. The position applies professional knowledge of organic and inorganic analytical methods and environmental quality assurance principles to evaluate data, support technical projects, and improve RSCC processes and procedures.

Duties include:

• Perform data management and data tracking activities and update Branch SharePoint sites. 
• Support the operation of the RSCC Document Control Room. 
• Participate in ELMS projects related to RSCC functions and Data Validation. 
• Validate organic and/or inorganic analytical data. 
• Assist with the review and update of Branch Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to RSCC and Data Validation. 
• Perform other Hazardous Waste Support Branch (HWSB) duties as assigned. 

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

Successful candidates must meet the age criteria of being 55 years of age or older and be eligible to work in the United States. Selected candidates will also be required to undergo a federal security background check. Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Environmental Science, or another related physical science. Minimum of 10 years of related experience in Chemistry, Environmental Science, Quality Assurance, and/or data management. Knowledge of environmental-related organic and inorganic analytical methods. Experience with data validation. Knowledge of laboratory and environmental sampling quality assurance protocols. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Access; experience with SharePoint. Other duties as assigned

Hours & Compensation:

Full-time or Part-Time position 30-40 per week @ $19.21 per hour, benefits, vacation, sick and holidays.
