What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mitigation Estimator position at CWF Restoration?
CWF Restoration is looking for an experienced Mitigation Estimator to join our growing Chicagoland team.
We’re a family-owned, high-growth restoration company specializing in water, fire, and property damage restoration. We’re looking for someone who understands mitigation, knows Xactimate, and can confidently manage estimates from initial scope through revisions, supplements, and adjuster negotiations.
This is primarily a desk estimating position, with occasional field estimating during high-volume periods and storm events.
What You’ll Do
- Prepare accurate water mitigation estimates and invoices using Xactimate
- Review job notes, photos, documentation, and 3D scans to develop complete scopes
- Handle estimate revisions, supplements, and documentation requests
- Communicate and negotiate directly with insurance adjusters
- Help resolve estimate-related questions with customers and internal teams
- Work closely with project managers, dispatch, and accounts receivable
- Perform occasional field inspections and estimates when needed
- Manage multiple active files while maintaining accuracy and turnaround times
What We’re Looking For
- Strong working knowledge of Xactimate
- Experience in restoration, mitigation, property claims, or estimating
- Ability to confidently communicate with adjusters and insurance professionals
- Strong attention to detail and documentation
- Excellent organization and time-management skills
- Ability to manage a high-volume workload without sacrificing quality
- IICRC WRT and/or ASD certifications are a plus
