Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise survey crews during field operations, ensuring safety and efficiency
- Plan and coordinate survey activities, including data collection, staking, and layout
- Operate and troubleshoot advanced surveying equipment such as GPS systems, 3D scanners, Trimble devices, and total stations
- Utilize CAD software including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson, and Civil 3D to process survey data and prepare detailed drawings
- Conduct land surveys including ALTA surveys, topographic mapping, boundary establishment, and construction staking
- Apply principles of geometry, trigonometry, algebra, and math to ensure precise measurements and calculations
- Use GIS tools like ArcGIS and ArcGIS Pro for spatial analysis and mapping projects
- Generate schematics and schematics for construction plans or land development projects
- Ensure all survey work complies with industry standards and client specifications
- Maintain accurate records of field data and survey progress for project documentation
Skills
- Strong knowledge of land surveying techniques and civil engineering fundamentals
- Proficiency with GPS technology, Trimble equipment, 3D scanners, and related data collection tools
- Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit, Carlson, and Schematics drafting tools
- Experience with GIS platforms like ArcGIS or ArcGIS Pro for spatial analysis
- Familiarity with construction surveying processes including staking and layout for large-scale projects
- Ability to interpret blueprints, schematics, ALTA surveys, and construction plans
- Solid understanding of geometry, trigonometry (including the use of Land surveying principles), algebra, and math applications in surveying tasks
- Knowledge of civil 3D workflows for terrain modeling and design integration
- Strong leadership skills to manage field crews effectively while maintaining safety standards
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail in data accuracy
