Duties
- Diagnose and repair refrigeration systems, HVAC units, electrical controls, plumbing components, and mechanical systems using schematics and technical manuals.
- Install new refrigeration equipment, HVAC systems, building automation systems, and related mechanical components following industry standards and safety protocols.
- Perform routine maintenance on refrigeration units, HVAC systems, boilers, air conditioning units, and electrical systems to ensure peak performance and longevity.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters to identify faults within complex electrical circuits.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues efficiently through detailed inspections and mechanical knowledge to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records, complete detailed reports on repairs performed, system diagnostics, and maintenance activities.
- Communicate effectively with customers to explain repairs, provide maintenance recommendations, and ensure high levels of customer service throughout every interaction.
Skills
- Proven experience in service technician roles with a strong background in refrigeration, HVAC/R (Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning / Refrigeration), or related mechanical fields.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, blueprints, and building automation system diagrams.
- Skilled in Refrigeration system repair and installation. l knowledge encompassing plumbing systems, boiler operation, air conditioning units, and mechanical systems repair.
- Proficiency with hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, multimeters (including ohmmeters), and other diagnostic equipment.
- Electrical diagnostics expertise for troubleshooting electrical faults within complex control panels or wiring systems.
- Strong customer service skills to ensure positive interactions with clients while providing professional advice on system maintenance or upgrades.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record for field service travel; EPA certification required for refrigerant handling.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining safety standards.
