Construction Bookkeeper

Part-Time Construction Bookkeeper

CW Building & Remodeling is looking for a dependable, experienced Part-Time Bookkeeper to join our team. We are a custom home building and remodeling company looking for someone who understands the financial side of a construction business and can help keep our books, invoices, vendor accounts, and project costs organized and accurate. This is a in office/remote position, approximately 20 hours per week, with a flexible schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping in QuickBooks
• Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Enter and categorize bills, invoices, payments, and expenses
• Reconcile bank and credit card accounts
• Prepare and maintain customer invoices
• Track vendor and subcontractor invoices and payments
• Assist with construction job costing and project expenses
• Accurately assign expenses to the appropriate jobs/projects
• Coordinate financial information between QuickBooks and Buildertrend
• Review accounts and transactions for accuracy and identify discrepancies
• Assist with monthly financial reporting and account reconciliation
• Maintain organized financial records
• Communicate with the owner and office team regarding bookkeeping questions
• Provide general accounting and administrative support as needed
• Communicate with clients and answer any questions

What we're looking for:

• 5 years of bookkeeping experience
• Strong knowledge of QuickBooks
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, invoicing, and reconciliations
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
• Excellent communication skills
• High level of discretion and confidentiality

Strongly Preferred:

• Experience working for a construction company, builder, or contractor
• Experience with Buildertrend or similar construction management software
• Understanding of construction job costing
• Experience with subcontractor and vendor accounts
• Familiarity with construction invoices, deposits, credits, progress billing, and change orders
