Williston Central School seeks a temporary (2 hours a day 3 times a week), energetic specialist paraeducator to join our special education team. We are looking for a skilled, caring individual to provide intensive support in the areas of multi-layered curriculum or curriculum overlapping, communication, behavior, and activities of daily living across school settings. The candidate will be an advocate of inclusive education, problem-solver and strong collaborator, and a positive team member. Ability to promote child growth and foster independence and a willingness to learn are essential.
Candidate will work under the supervision of a professional to:
- Direct, adjust or develop elements of student instructional and behavioral plan
- Foster independence so that student can fully participate in school activities
- Collect, maintain, and interpret data
- Integrate instructional, behavioral, and communication interventions into the classroom
Ideal candidates will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, an understanding of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS), Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), and demonstrate the ability to build relationships and rapport with students and school teams. The hourly range for a paraspecialist is $28.62 - $30.53 based on education and experience.
