CVL Consultants is a multidisciplinary planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, hydrology, and surveying firm with more than 160 professionals serving clients throughout Arizona and the Southwest. Our landscape architecture team works on a diverse range of public and private projects including community and regional parks, recreation centers, campus environments, master planned communities, commercial developments, resorts, mixed-use developments, urban streetscapes, and hospitality projects.

We believe the best designers develop through experience. As a member of our team, you will work alongside experienced landscape architects and engineers through every phase of project delivery, from initial site analysis and conceptual design through construction documentation and construction administration. You will have the opportunity to contribute to meaningful projects while developing the technical and professional skills necessary for long-term career growth.

Position and Responsibilities

We are seeking a Landscape Designer for an entry-level position. Recent graduates and candidates with up to three years of professional experience are encouraged to apply.

Working under the direction of licensed landscape architects and project managers, responsibilities include:

  • Assist with site analysis and field inventory documentation.
  • Prepare conceptual site plans and design exhibits.
  • Develop planting plans, hardscape layouts, and site details.
  • Prepare construction drawings using AutoCAD and Land F/X.
  • Coordinate with landscape architects, planners, civil engineers, surveyors, and other design professionals.
  • Prepare presentation graphics and client exhibits.
  • Participate in construction administration activities, including submittal reviews, RFIs, and periodic field observations.
  • Support multiple projects while meeting established schedules and quality standards.

Required Qualifications

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (2022 or newer).
  • Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture from an accredited university (or a closely related degree with demonstrated landscape design experience).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Desire to continue learning and develop professionally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Internship or professional experience in a landscape architecture office.
  • Experience with Land F/X and SketchUp.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of Southwestern plant materials and planting design.
  • Experience preparing construction documents.

Compensation & Benefits

  • This is a full-time, hourly position with starting pay range of $23.00 to $28.00 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.
