Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technical Accounting Manager for a three-month contract engagement supporting the CAO of a rapidly growing, billion-dollar enterprise. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technical accountant with a strong background in large, complex organizations and a proven ability to analyze, document, and communicate accounting conclusions with clarity and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a direct partner to the CAO on technical accounting matters, providing clear and accurate guidance on complex transactions.
- Research, interpret, and document accounting positions in accordance with U.S. GAAP and relevant regulatory standards.
- Evaluate and map process workflows to support accounting conclusions, compliance, and control requirements.
- Prepare high-quality technical memos, presentations, and supporting documentation for executive and audit review.
- Assist with special projects including revenue recognition, leases, financial instruments, consolidations, and other technical topics as needed.
- Support the development and enhancement of accounting policies, internal processes, and reporting frameworks.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Finance, FP&A, Operations, and external auditors to ensure alignment and transparency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred.
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant experience at a large, complex company (Fortune 1000 or comparable).
- Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, technical accounting research, and preparation of technical accounting documentation.
- Strong understanding of end-to-end process flow, including how accounting conclusions translate into operational processes and systems.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to build clear analyses, process maps, and executive-ready presentations.
- Big 4 public accounting experience strongly preferred.
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work independently, manage tight timelines, and operate with a high degree of accuracy and professionalism.
