Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Designer to join our expanding team. This is an on-site position based in Pittsburgh, PA. Regular in-office attendance is required, and remote work and relocation assistance are not available for this role. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex industrial projects that significantly impact manufacturing and heavy industry sectors. The position involves developing detailed electrical designs for large-scale industrial facilities, including power distribution, lighting systems, grounding, and conduit layouts. You will lead the creation of comprehensive construction documents that support project success from concept through construction. This role provides growth opportunities in project leadership and technical expertise while supporting a diverse portfolio of challenging projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed electrical design drawings and construction documents using AutoCAD and Revit.
• Develop electrical layouts for power distribution, lighting, grounding, conduit systems, cable trays, and equipment arrangements.
• Create single-line diagrams, panel schedules, cable schedules, and bills of materials.
• Collaborate with electrical engineers to develop accurate and complete design packages.
• Coordinate with project managers and other disciplines to ensure designs meet project requirements and schedules.
• Incorporate engineering markups, client comments, and revisions into drawings.
• Ensure all designs comply with industry codes, client standards, and company drafting practices.
• Maintain high-quality drawings with proper organization and revision control throughout project phases.
• Contribute to project planning by providing technical insights on electrical system complexities and potential design improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or technical degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field preferred.
• 5-8 years of electrical design experience in industrial or heavy industrial environments.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit experience preferred.
• Experience preparing electrical construction drawings for large-scale industrial facilities.
• Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and industrial electrical design standards.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and support project milestones.
