Program Description:
Project SEARCH is a site-based workforce development, Career-Technical Education program for students who have completed all of their graduation requirements. The targeted goal is competitive employment after the one-year experience.
Students must be willing to access independent transportation and are able to meet minimum employment expectations (e.g., math, reading and communication skills).
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Transition to Work Endorsement required or obtained within two years;
- Current certification in special education, supervisory or administrative certificate(s) preferred;
- Special Education degree, or a related field preferred; Bachelor's required; Master's preferred;
- Experience with the IEP process with a focus on monitoring and review;
- Thorough knowledge of special education laws and regulations;
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills for understanding and interpreting data to inform instruction and other practices;
- Current and relevant communication and technology skills;
- Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
