This position is hired through the Summit County Educational Service Center. New hire onboarding will be handled through the ESC.
Certification/Licensure required:
Ohio Department of Education and Workforce teaching license; preferred
Job Duties:
Provide students with assistance on class assignments and projects;
Provide direct services to students as identified and referred by staff, administration and/or caregivers as at-risk for academic and/or disciplinary reasons;
Assist students in making up missing work, taking or retaking tests, or completing class projects in a satisfactory manner;
Conduct and supervise in-school restriction program;
Communicate respectfully and tactfully with staff, students, caregivers and the public;
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Administrator.
Qualifications:
Experience working with at-risk students is preferred;
Thorough knowledge, understanding, and appreciation for the learning process and the nature and growth of children;
Ability to communicate with students and caregivers in the appropriate manner;
Ability to work collaboratively and productively with other staff members, students, and administration;
Acceptable report on required BCI/FBI background investigations;
Alternative to the above qualifications as the Superintendent and/or Board of Education may find appropriate.
