Certification/Licensure required:
- Master’s Degree in School Counseling;
- Certification/Licensure appropriate for this position;
- Successful experience in student relations, curriculum and instruction, and community relations in a high school environment.
Preferences:
- Demonstrate a sufficient understanding of effective counseling practices and strong interpersonal communication skills;
- Demonstrate a sufficient knowledge of State testing requirements and be familiar with all related applications and compliance procedures related to secondary level testing;
- Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of secondary courses of study and curriculum guides;
- Familiarity with DASL and Progress Book, creating and updating 504’s, and IEP’s.
Qualifications:
- Must have appropriate, valid certification or license as recognized by the Ohio Department of Education.
- Thorough knowledge, understanding, and appreciation for the learning process and the nature and growth of children.
- Ability to communicate with students and parents in the appropriate manner.
- Demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively and productively with other staff members, students, and administration.
- Successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen
