Summary
Specializing in case management, the Nursing Program Specialist oversees aspects confronting students interested in pursuing the Associate of Applied Science (AAS) and Bachelor (BSN) of Nursing in the School of Nursing and Health Professions. This position plays a pivotal role in supporting students throughout their academic journey. Requires a strong commitment to student success, and effective collaboration and communication with faculty, staff, and internal/external stakeholders. Ensures that students receive comprehensive support to achieve their educational goals while maintaining the integrity and quality of the nursing program.

Summary

This position plays a pivotal role in supporting students throughout their academic journey. Ensures that students receive comprehensive support to achieve their educational goals while maintaining the integrity and quality of the nursing program.
Essential Functions
- Provides individualized guidance and support utilizing a case management approach, to address academic, personal, and administrative needs of AAS students in the School of Nursing and Health Professions.
- Monitors student progress and intervenes as necessary to facilitate timely completion of program entry, progression, and completion requirements.
- Mentors students, tracks progress and connects students to support services as needed to ensure students are entering and progressing, ultimately attaining program completion and/or certification.
- Collaborates with Enrollment Management on admission and enrollment activities for the School of Nursing and Health Professions.
- Supports the development of strategic offerings/initiatives, related policies and procedures, recruitment strategies and program promotion in collaboration with college and community stakeholders.
- Compiles and analyzes data related to student outcomes, program enrollment, and retention rates for the School of Nursing and Health Professions.
- Prepares reports for institutional stakeholders and use data insights to inform decision-making and improve program effectiveness, impact retention and overall success of students within the nursing program.
- Develops and maintains effective communication with prospective applicants, students, graduates, faculty, program alumni, and community.
- Coordinates with Associate Deans, Program Directors, counseling, and other offices to facilitate conversations around course substitutions, waivers, and other enrollment matters to support students.
- In conjunction with Marketing & Communications, develops and maintains website and resources for students interested in the programs within the School of Nursing.
- Collaborates with Access, Learning & Success (AL&S), Enrollment Management, Tutoring Services, Learning Commons, Marketing & Communications, Faculty Development and Online Learning & Academic Technology (OLAT) to provide services in support of student learning and engagement.
- Works collaboratively to maintain the vision and goals for the student support in the School of Nursing and Health Professions.
- Collaborates with faculty and deans collegewide to ensure effective course offerings and schedule.
- Oversees program effectiveness and student satisfaction using an assessment plan and assists with program review.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- Significant related experience may substitute for education
- Minimum of five years of demonstrated experience in higher education and/or academic program management.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with diverse student populations, faculty, and staff.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting using student information systems and other relevant software.
- Commitment to student-centered practices and fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment.

- Demonstrated intermediate proficiency with Learning Management Systems, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point.
