Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of designated areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, mops, and scrubbers
- Handle chemical agents safely by following proper chemical handling safety procedures and sanitation protocols
- Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and other floor care techniques to ensure a pristine appearance
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with safety and environmental standards
- Conduct routine inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs or safety hazards and report them promptly
- Assist with light maintenance tasks including residential painting or minor repairs as needed
- Follow all safety protocols during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks to prevent injuries and ensure safe lifting practices
Experience
- Prior custodial or janitorial experience in commercial or industrial settings is welcome.
- Customer service skills are beneficial for interacting professionally with staff or visitors when necessary
- Previous porter or industrial cleaning experience can provide a solid foundation for success in this role, but not necessary
