Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and dependable Senior Cable Installer to lead installation projects and mentor junior technicians. This role involves the installation, modification, repair, and maintenance of voice, video, and data cabling systems and equipment. Candidates must be comfortable with weekend and third-shift work and capable of maintaining high performance standards while traveling out of state.
Primary Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise junior installers on job sites.
- Mount TV monitors on walls and drop ceilings.
- Install low-voltage lines (Cat5 and Cat6).
- Install UTP copper and other audio/video cables and connectors.
- Perform cable pulling, fire stopping, pre-termination, and labeling to industry standards.
- Install desktop PCs, network hardware, VOIP phones, and security cameras.
- Terminate coaxial, light-crimp, and compression connectors.
- Test copper cables using appropriate certification tools and troubleshoot issues.
- Remove and demolish abandoned cables.
- Assemble and install racks and related hardware.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Use power tools and basic tools (e.g., level, measuring tape) proficiently.
- Complete jobs thoroughly, including cleanup of materials and work areas.
- Communicate via cell phone and email; read and follow floor plans.
- Maintain accountability for company assets (vehicles, tools, equipment).
- Manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Maintain consistent and punctual attendance, including weekends and third shifts.
- Deliver excellent customer service and support.
