Full-time, Temporary One-to-One Paraprofessional
Cutchins Programs for Children & Families is currently seeking a full-time Temporary One-to-One Paraprofessional or classroom help with student needs while attending school for our 766-approved, year round, private school for students with behavioral, emotional and social difficulties. We seek an enthusiastic, creative team player who has demonstrated ability to work with children receiving special education.
The temporary role assignments is full-time but is based upon the specific students assigned to one-to-one services and/or other staff absences. All temporary staff may apply direct hire positions as the job vacancies occur.
The School hours are Monday to Friday, promptly starting at 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Responsibilities include:
- Provide specific student supervision, set behavioral limits, respond to crisis situations and attend to student safety in accordance with established DBT de-escalation techniques.
- Participate in creating a positive, effective learning environment.
- Responding to the behavioral and emotional difficulties that interfere with class attendance;
- Process directly with students who need support and behavioral/social-emotional skills development;
- Practicing distress tolerance skills and coping strategies to encourage engagement and participation; Collaborate with colleagues;
- Participate in various meetings with other clinical, administrative and support staff to share information, develop plans, collaborate effectively and process incidents.
Must obtain & maintain all licenses & training's appropriate to field, including CPR/First Aid
