Duties
- Deliver prepared lesson plans provided by the regular classroom teacher or create engaging activities aligned with curriculum standards.
- Manage classroom behavior effectively to maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Support diverse learners.
- Foster inclusive learning environments by adapting lessons to meet individual student needs and abilities.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to school policies on child safety and behavior management.
- Collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity of instruction and student engagement.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with children across various age groups within a K-12 setting.
- Experience developing lesson plans that incorporate curriculum standards for subjects such as literacy education, mathematics, or early childhood education.
- Demonstrated ability to manage classroom behavior effectively and foster positive relationships with students.
- Background working with children with special needs, including those on the autism spectrum or requiring accommodations for learning differences.
- Familiarity with different teaching methodologies such as Montessori or preschool approaches is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with teachers, staff, parents, and students effectively.
- Experience tutoring or providing individualized instruction to support student progress in core subjects like reading and math.
- Knowledge of childhood development principles to create age-appropriate learning experiences.
- Private school experience or experience working in diverse educational settings is advantageous but not required.
