Strategic Work
Manage Passive Assets
Analyze financial performance of company's investment assets; prepare and present recommendations to the CFO and CEO on ways to increase performance of the assets.
Maintain professional relationships with external investment teams, including ensuring the company receives timely and appropriate financial reports.
Risk Management / Insurance
Evaluate and analyze the company’s insurable risks and prepare and present proposals for the company’s insurance lines (e.g., WC, P&C, CGL, E&O, EPLI, D&O, Crime, Key Person, etc.).
Maintain relationships with insurance brokers and other partners (e.g., attorneys, consultants, etc.).
Manage insurance claims and coordinate workflows with team.
Key Contracts and Vendors
Manage key contracts and assist the CFO and operating partners in analyzing contracts key terms (renewal dates, extension, economics, etc.)
Maintain relationships with key external vendors (e.g., suppliers, banks, partners)
Strategic Projects
Serve as the CEO’s primary administrator of strategic projects, ensuring timely and accurate execution of strategic projects
Tactical Work
Manage Production of Financial Statements
Although this role is primarily strategic in nature and does not involve day-to-day bookkeeping work, this role will assist the CFO and accounting teams in preparing financial statements, especially for real property holdings and passive investment holdings.
Company Record Keeping
Organize and maintain the company’s document management system (DMS)
File company contracts and docket key dates in the DMS
With direction from CEO, maintain corporate minutebook for company and client organizations
Regulatory
Coordinate maintenance of the company’s licenses (e.g., business licenses, vehicle registrations, liquor licenses) with business partners, by executing standard driven workflows to ensure the company’s compliance
In conjunction with the CFO, serve as key laison with external CPA and tax professionals
Manage HQ
Receive, approve, and code all invoices relating to HQ office expenses; monitor HQ office expenses against budget
Supervise HQ PTO, attendance, expense reports, etc. Deliver performance reveiws of HQ staff

Physical and Occupational Requirments:
Although the work is largely clerical, candidates must be able to occassionally lift and carry at least 25 pounds. Candidates must be able to kneel, stoop and bend frequently.
Candidates must have a valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and be insurable.
Candidates must be able to be trusted with cash, trade secrets and other valuable property and therefore must pass a background check and driver’s report.
Experience and Educational Requirements:
Five or more years of experience in managing financial teams or asset management
Bachelor's Degree, preferably in accounting, finance, or business management
Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills
Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning
Preferred skills and qualifications
Master’s degree or CPA certification
Experience in mergers and acquisitions and investor relations
Knowledge of Sage Intacct ERP
