Overview
Are you passionate about serving those who served our country? We're looking for 25 dedicated Medical Support Assistants to support the Dayton VA Medical Center — one of the nation's premier healthcare facilities for our veterans.
Responsibilities
- Provide courteous and professional customer service to veterans, their families, and clinical staff in person, by phone, and through written correspondence
- Schedule, maintain, and manage patient appointments across one or more clinic locations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Operate standard office equipment including computers, printers, scanners, and multiline phone systems
- Store, distribute, and account for clinical materials and office supplies in accordance with established inventory procedures
- Deliver messages and facilitate communication between patients, clinical staff, and administrative personnel
- Develop and maintain working knowledge of business standards and operating procedures specific to each assigned clinic
- Support clinic access contingency plans by adjusting appointment times, dates, and locations as needed in response to staffing or coverage changes
- Coordinate patient reassignment to alternate healthcare providers when scheduling conflicts or staffing gaps arise
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and quality in all administrative functions in support of the Dayton VAMC Clinic Practice Management (CPM) Service
- Adhere to established VA standards and protocols to ensure continuity and quality of patient care
Qualifications
- 6 months of clerical, office or other related role that indicates the ability to perform the duties of this position
- High School diploma or GED equivalent required
- Oral and written proficiency in English
- Basic computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook & Teams)
- Ability to successfully undergo a Government-sponsored background investigation (US Citizenship required)
- No health or physical disability restrictions that interfere with the performance of assigned duties
