Qualifications
Who We're Seeking
- Rising college freshman/sophomores/juniors in ANY DEGREE program – we want energetic, motivated, capable individuals with a vision for creating something amazing
- AI obsessives: You have used AI beyond a “super Google” search. Maybe you've built personal GenAI projects using tools like Claude Code or Roo, maybe you’ve contributed to open-source projects, or won hackathons. Or maybe you just have a vision for a “killer app” or an idea that would make government work better for the American people and want to learn how you can make it real using AI.
- First-principles thinkers: Break problems to atoms (e.g., "What are the primitives of consulting automation?", “How could the Veteran’s Health Administration serve patients better”) and then build it into something real boldly
- You are not afraid to make mistakes, and you learn from them
- Experience in using GenAI for web or mobile app development
- Some of you might be very familiar with Python, JavaScript, Kotlin, prompt engineering, and LLMs, but you may just be a creative with an amazing idea, and you need an AI partner to make it real.
- Active GitHub account. Not just "familiar with GitHub"—you use it. Your repo is how you show us who you are before you ever say a word to us
- Experience with either AWS or Microsoft Azure, but if not, be willing to dig in
Application process:
- Receive your challenge brief: We want to see you build something with AI that solves a problem. We will provide detailed instructions after reviewing your application form.
- Interview: We want to learn about you and review your challenge brief results, and we’ll build some features together on it live.
