Job Summary
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Fashion Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conceptualizing and developing innovative fashion collections, translating design ideas into compelling visual and physical products. This role offers an exciting opportunity to influence the fashion industry through innovative design, technical expertise, and a strong understanding of current trends and consumer preferences.

Duties

  • Develop original fashion concepts and collections, utilizing skills in fashion styling, illustration, and garment construction.
  • Create detailed sketches and technical drawings using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and CAD software.
  • Manage the product lifecycle from initial concept through production, ensuring designs meet quality standards and brand identity.
  • Collaborate with merchandising teams to align designs with market trends and retail strategies.
  • Oversee fabric selection, color theory application, and material sourcing to ensure cohesive collections.
  • Assist in fitting sessions, adjusting designs as needed for optimal fit and aesthetic appeal.
  • Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure accurate execution of designs during garment construction.
  • Stay current with industry trends, fashion retail developments, and emerging technologies in graphic design and theater set design that can influence fashion projects.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator), CAD programs, and product lifecycle management tools.
  • Strong background in fashion design, garment construction, sewing machine operation, and illustration.
  • Knowledge of color theory, sewing techniques, and fabric properties.
  • Experience or interest in fashion retail, merchandising, or styling is a plus.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills to articulate design ideas clearly to stakeholders and production teams.
  • Prior experience or education in theater or graphic design is advantageous.
  • Must have a portfolio demonstrating skills in fashion illustration, graphic design, or related creative work. This position offers an engaging environment for passionate designers eager to make a mark in the fashion industry while honing their technical skills across various creative platforms.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $20.61 per hour

Expected hours: 8 per week
