Summary

Primary responsibility is to drive a heavy truck in excess capacity of more than three (3) tons; Majority of driving will be local. Full-time position Monday-Thursday.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Inspects truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil and water.
• Drives truck for testing purposes.
• Maintains truck log, according to state and federal regulations.
• Maintains telephone or radio contact with supervisor to receive instructions.
• Must have a working knowledge and understanding of safety requirements and practice them.
• When assigned, will open a work order so time may be charged out to assigning department.
• Reports accidents to Safety and HR immediately, obtaining names, license numbers and other details.
• Must work with and for all departments in harmony.
  
  

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

• This position requires a CDL Class B license and clean driving record to remain insurable.
  
  

EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE

• A minimum of three years Class B CDL driving experience.
  
  

Other Skills And Abilities

• High skill level driving heavy trucks. Highly detail oriented and organized in work. Acceptable written and oral communication skills. Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a customer service focus with all levels of employees, management, and external agencies to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving and results.
